If you have been following new trends on the internet in the last month or so, you will be aware of AI-based trends. Be it AI self-portraits on TikTok or AI-generated images based on prompts, there has been a lot of traction on what AI can and cannot do. Another such trend has been using AI platforms such as ChatGPT or Copy.ai for a multitude of purposes.

Granted that these AI platforms have their own set of drawbacks, such as giving incorrect information or generating content based on user bias, it seems it can be used to create generic content. Thereafter, this generic content can be used as a baseline and finessed by human employees.

In this article, we will take one simple example of an administrative task – drafting company-wide emails – and see which platform can create better emails.

Using AI for Company-Wide Emails

Copy.ai

Company-wide emails may be simple but it can be a mundane task, especially when creating holiday-based emails. Hence, this is the one task that can be handed over to AI to save time and effort. It may not always seem personal but can be seen as a good base template.

To check the efficiency of the AI, we turn to Copy.ai to create an email which informs employees of a change in remote working policy. Copy.ai is slightly different from ChatGPT since there are specific prompts that need to be fed for the right output.

The prompt we gave to Copy.ai was what the email is for, specific points such as the number of days employees need to come to the office and the tone of the email. This is what we got in return:

I just wanted to let you know that we’re shifting from a fully remote to a hybrid working structure. Starting next week, we’ll be expecting all employees to come in 2 times a week on any two days of their choosing. Conclusion

Despite providing lesser prompts, it is easy to see that the ChatGPT response is far more professional and requires minimal editing to make it seem less robotic. With the rise in ChatGPT’s efficiency, we believe it has more scope of providing more information, and this is just one example.

We believe ChatGPT can be used for various other tasks such as creating templates for policies, fact-checking and maybe even creating a starting point for articles such as this one. And considering that an update is due for ChatGPT, it’s only going to get better,

However, Copy.ai is not far behind in what it can do. The platform has multiple formats and tools that can be utilised for a good start to any project – be it an email, an essay or even a dating app profile.

It all comes down to the needs of the business, although at present, ChatGPT seems to be leading the AI race.
